Miya was born in 1992 in Mumbai to George and Mini into a Malay Christian family. She has an older sister named Gini. She lived in Mumbai till the age of five and then moved to Palai in Kottayam, Kerala. She studied at Sacred Heart Girls’ High School and St. Mary’s High School in Varananganam. She received her B.A. She graduated from the University of Alfonsa in Para and she received a master’s degree in English Literature from the University of St. Thomas in Para. She became famous as a model in 2012 when she won the Kerala Miss Fitness contest. Her acting career began with her supporting roles in the television series ‘Alphonsamma’ and ‘Kunjali Malakar’. Miya’s first feature film debut was in 2010 with Oru Small Family, directed by Rajasenan. Later in 2012, she played her first lead role in the film Navagasaak Swagatam.
