The movie was announced in February 2022 with the working title Thalaivar 169 and the official title Jailer was also officially announced in May. In August 2022, in Chennai, the principal photography began in August 2022 and it was wrapped in June 2023. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music, and Vijay Kartik Kannan and R. Nirmal handled the cinematography and editing.

JAILER MOVIE TRAILER

Rajinikanth, the superstar is going to attract the audience, more than in all movies with his signature swagger while slashing, shooting, and pounding bad guys into pulp in the high-octane trailer of his upcoming Tamil-language action thriller movie Jailer, set for an August 10 theatrical release.

In the 2-minute-15-second trailer dropped by SUN TV, we see our superstar as a loveable and caring grandfather who polishes the shoes of his son and grandson. Muthuvel Pandian has played a character that seems like a gentle peace-loving family man, but a doctor is conveying to the family that he suffers from a disease.

The clip shows us Vinayakan’s Malayalam is conveying a psychopath gangster who vows to kill Rajinikanth’s family. He is cautioned by a role played by Jackie Shroff, who introduces Muthuvel as a ‘Tiger’. After this, we see Muthuvel’s alter-ego Tiger brutally slashing his opponent with swords and machetes, and effortlessly switching from automatic revolvers to machine guns.
