Pranita made her debut opposite Darshan in her 2010 Kannada film Polki. After the success of Polki, she turned down several offers from Kannada films and after being selective about her projects, she signed on for the Telugu film Bhava, a love story opposite Siddhartha. She was unanimously praised for playing a Telugu village beauty in her film. She then appeared in her first Tamil film ‘Udayan’ with Arulnithi. She made her acting debut in the 2010 Kannada film Polki. After that, she went on to have several commercial successes including ‘Baava’ (2010), ‘Attarintiki Daredi’ (2013), ‘Masu Engira Masilamani’ (2015), and ‘Enakku Vaaitha Adimaigal’ (2017).
She was then enrolled in her second Tamil project ‘Sagni’ opposite Karthi, which was released in both Tamil and Telugu. ‘Saguni’ was their biggest release and the film was released in a record 1,150 theaters worldwide. She then starred in Jarasandha and Bheema Seeladhari, both of which were based on the true story of a Naxalite, opposite Duniya Vijay. Pranitha received critical acclaim for her role as Bheemava and was nominated for a Filmfare Award. This year, she won a Santosham Award for Bheema Seeladhari.
She then starred in the Kannada film Whistle, for which she was nominated for a SIIMA Award. She then starred in the Telugu film Attarintiki Daredi, which was released in September 2013 and became the highest-grossing Telugu film of all time, grossing over Rs 100 crore. At the same time, she worked on the Kannada film Brahma with Upendra.
