On January 21, 2024, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) successfully administered the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) January examination. The forthcoming step in this evaluation process involves the anticipated release of the provisional answer key by the board. Aspirants are encouraged to access and verify the key through the official examination website by logging in.

CTET Answer Key
Following the conclusion of the examination, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is in the process of uploading scanned images of candidates’ OMR sheets along with the corresponding answer key. In the recent CTET examination held on August 20, 2023, the answer keys and OMR images were released on September 15, 2023. Candidates were provided with an opportunity to raise objections, if any, as communicated by the board. The board assured that challenges would undergo a thorough review, and if accepted by subject experts, a policy decision would be made. In the event of a proven mistake, candidates would be eligible for a refund, subject to a fee of ₹1,000 per question.
Notably, the CTET January examination witnessed a substantial registration of nearly 27 lakh candidates. This encompassed approximately 9.58 lakh candidates for Paper 1 (Class 1-5) and around 17.35 lakh candidates for Paper 2 (Class 6-8). As the CBSE takes strides to ensure transparency and fairness in the evaluation process, candidates eagerly await the resolution of objections and the subsequent policy decisions that may impact the outcome of the examination.
Passing Marks
According to the CBSE-prescribed CTET qualifying criteria for 2024, candidates are required to achieve specific minimum marks based on their respective categories. The table below outlines the qualifying marks for the General category and the reserved categories:

As per these guidelines, General category candidates must secure a minimum of 60% marks, while candidates belonging to reserved categories must attain a minimum of 55% marks to successfully clear the CTET 2024 examination.
Similar to the preceding years, it is anticipated that the board will continue the practice of distributing marks sheets and certificates for the examination via DigiLocker. DigiLocker, an innovative and secure digital platform initiated by the government, serves as the preferred avenue for disseminating essential academic documents.
