Andrea Jeremiah was born into an Anglo-Indian Roman Catholic family in Arakkonam, Tamil Nadu. Her father was a lawyer and her mother was a housewife. The beautiful actress grew up in Chennai along with her younger sister and she attended Sacred Heart Matriculation High School and completed her studies at Women’s Christian College. Andrea is a self-confessed nerd who dreamed of becoming a psychiatrist until her 12th exam. As an actor Andrea Jeremiah began her acting career in Girish Karnad’s notable Kannada play Nagamandala. She made her Tamil debut in Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Pachaikili Muthucharam (2007), starring R. Sarathkumar, Jyothika and Milind Soman. The film was a film adaptation of an American crime thriller film titled Derailed. Though the film garnered average box office returns, Andrea garnered attention for her brilliant performance, for which she was nominated for a Vijay Award for Best Debut Actress. Her next film was Aayirathil Oruvan (2010). She played one of the lead roles alongside Karti and Reema Sen.
