World Photography Day History

The Daguerreotype was created in 1837 by Frenchmen Louis Daguerre and Joseph Nicephore Niepce, and it is the origin of World Photography Day. Niepce captured the earliest known permanent photograph known as “View from the Window at Le Gras” using a process called heliography in the year 1826. Thomas Sutton is the one who took the first durable color photograph in 1861. It was a collection of three monochrome images that had been captured with red, green, and blue filters. However, the photographic emulsions then in use were insensitive to the spectrum, so the result was very imperfect.

Photography has earlier become an increasing medium of personal expression and was rewarded by a large number of people around the world in the 19th century. It captures a place, experience, idea, memorable, happiest, and every moment. The photos will express the feeling faster than, and sometimes even more effectively than words can. It can make the one who looks at the world the way the photographer and it can still be taken by others in a hundred years.

World Photography Day is celebrated for the art of photography. It honors the photographers for their talent and creativity in taking photographs. From merely documenting historical occurrences, it has evolved towards embracing the moment to keep memories alive. Every good moments are lovely and captured as photographs for long-term memories.
