DFCCIL is inviting applications for nine positions of Deputy General Manager (Safety) at various locations, including Ahmedabad, Corporate Office, Tundla, Vadodara, Prayagraj, Ambala, Jaipur, Ajmer, and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Nagar. The positions are on a deputation basis for an initial term of 3 years, extendable up to 5 years (subject to exemption by DPE), with candidates required to be aged not more than 55 years. As per DFCCIL policy, the scale of pay comprises parent pay supplemented by deputation allowance, alongside various applicable perks and allowances.
Specific Requirements
Candidates must be Central/State Government officers holding Sr. Scale (Level-11) posts or Central/State Government officers with 10 years of service in Group B and holding cadre posts in Level 10 in their parent Cadre. Alternatively, PSU employees working in an analogous grade in the relevant discipline or in Rs. 70000-200000 (IDA) (E4) with four years of service in the grade are also eligible.
Job Description
The Deputy General Manager (Safety) will be responsible for enforcing safety instructions across units, attending accident sites, ensuring the preservation of relevant clues for investigation, and compiling accident statistics. Other responsibilities include:

This includes actively assisting the CGM in ensuring strict adherence to established safety protocols throughout operations. Leading collaborative efforts in conducting thorough safety inspections and audits across various departments ensures a holistic approach to safety management.
Furthermore, the role involves the dissemination of vital safety information through the preparation and distribution of detailed safety circulars, bulletins, and posters. In response to unique incidents or emerging safety concerns, the incumbent initiates targeted safety campaigns to raise awareness and promote proactive safety measures among staff and stakeholders. Ensuring consistent adherence to safety guidelines across the organization, supervising the performance of safety counsellors in various disciplines fosters a culture of safety.
Eligibility Criteria
Professional Experience
- Must hold a Sr. Scale (Level-11) post or have 10 years of service in Group B with cadre posts in Level 10 in the parent cadre.
- PSU employees working in an analogous grade or in Rs. 70000-200000 (IDA) (E4) with four years of service in the grade are also eligible.
Additional Skills
- Preference will be given to officers with experience working as D50/5 on Indian Railways.
- Exposure to working on computers and basic knowledge of MS Office, letter drafting, and statistical analysis is essential.
